Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed drawings, charts, and graphs based on instructions using standard drafting techniques to represent new components, assemblies, systems, or subsystems.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other graphic tools to perform scaling, dimensioning, and line locating tasks.
- Perform mathematical calculations to determine dimensions and weights.
- Collaborate with engineers and developers to accurately convey design features and requirements.
- Suggest design modifications to enhance product quality or streamline manufacturing processes.
- Support plant engineers and project leads by providing necessary drawings and documentation for improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 5 years of recent, relevant CAD drafting experience using AutoCAD.
- Technical Skills: A minimum of 4 years of experience translating engineering drawings, markups, and 3D models into 2D CAD drawings for various disciplines, including structural, mechanical, architectural, civil, and/or electrical and instrumentation.
- Preferred Software Knowledge: SolidWorks experience is highly preferred.
- Mathematical Skills: Strong ability to perform basic calculations and measurements.
- Deadlines: Proven ability to meet tight deadlines effectively.
- Standards Compliance: Ability to select and apply appropriate engineering standards and verify adherence.
- 3D Visualization: Ability to conceptualize three-dimensional, dynamic systems.
- Communication: Strong team collaboration and communication skills to work with and support engineers.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with machines, engineering practices, building materials, mathematics, and physical sciences.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
