As a member of the Applied® Fluid Power Network, you will help manufacturers grow their business, enhance human interaction with machinery, improve machine safety and reliability, while helping the environment by reducing equipment energy consumption. As a Business Development Representative with ESI (Engineered Sales), an Applied Fluid Power subsidiary, you’ll interact directly with your customers to determine their fluid power-related needs and work with the sales team to develop and sell solutions to meet those needs. You will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction, retention and sales results!
Responsibilities:
- Promote sales by generating interest and appointments for the sales associates.
- Cold calls to prospects, using the phone in a professional manner.
- Follow up calls to existing customers to identify future needs.
- Create and send out product promotions to new and existing customers.
- Request appointments with prospects and customers to meet with our outside sales reps and/or engineers.
- Update the Sales Funnel & CRM with input from team members.
- Maintain sales records, pipeline reporting, and generate relevant sales and market reports on a monthly, quarterly, annual, basis.
- Responsible for helping set sales goals and marketing strategy.
- Provide service to internal and external customers.
- Process and fulfill customer orders occasionally, but not primary role.
- Generate price quotes and ensure timely delivery of products, occasional expediting parts.
- Enhance retention of current customers through direct interaction and post-sale follow-up.
- Provide technical and application information.
- Be strategic, extremely organized, and technologically savvy in your approach to interacting with customers, vendors and associates.
- Assist outside sales with quote preparation.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to present mechanical product demonstrations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to influence and interact with others
- Sales hunter mindset--strong desire to grow new sales.
- Video/Web sales skills—presents the company and our products professionally—must have computer skills in MS Office.
- Self-motivated & aggressive in sales tactics and strategies; desire to close sales!
- Background in sales within the Industrial/Fluid Power marketplace preferred.
