DESCRIPTION
- Ensures resident hygiene daily
- Makes all types of beds
- Takes and records vital signs accurately within the shift
- Keeps correct intake/output when indicated
- Distributes trays and feeds residents as needed
- Alters residents position every 2 hours within shift
- Answers call lights immediately
- Responds in a positive manner to direction, supervision and evaluation of performance
- Establishes priorities and organizes work within shift
- Completes assignments within the shift
- Gives accurate report of care provided and resident’s response to nurse
- Demonstrates patience and tact in dealing with residents, their families and personnel
- Assists residents in/out of beds, chairs or wheelchairs within the shift
- Demonstrates good body mechanics
- Demonstrates awareness of hazards
- Keeps assigned room orderly for safe resident environment
- Participates in self-development programs
- Assists in orienting new personnel as requested
- Assists with post-mortem care
- Documents competency in clinical skills at least annually
- Provides for oral hygiene for residents as ordered
- Gives complete/Partial bath daily
Education/Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Current CNA certification in Georgia or letter of acceptance from an approved school. Must be certified at completion of course.
Experience:
Six (6) months experience preferred but not required.
