Position Overview:
The Admissions Coordinator plays a pivotal role in a Skilled Nursing Facility, ensuring that the intake process for patients is efficient, compassionate, and compliant with all regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who possesses exceptional communication skills and a strong understanding of healthcare systems. The Admissions Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the admission procedures, which include gathering patient information, verifying insurance benefits, and facilitating the entry of patients into the healthcare facility. The role necessitates a proactive approach in addressing patient needs and concerns while collaborating closely with medical staff to ensure seamless transitions from admission to treatment.
- Manage and oversee the admissions process for all incoming patients.
- Gather and verify patient information, including personal details and insurance data.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure appropriate assignment of patients to departments.
- Address patient queries and concerns, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation within the healthcare system.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to confirm coverage and benefits for all patients.
Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and policies throughout the admission process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an admissions or patient services role within Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care.
- Proficient in healthcare software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Familiarity with insurance verification processes and healthcare regulations.
