Job Summary
Appomattox County School District is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented School Building Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities. Key Responsibilities:
• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, dust, and vacuum assigned areas on a prescribed schedule.
• Scrub and disinfect toilet doors, urinals, toilet bowls, and other fixtures daily, including water bottle fillers and drinking fountains and garbage containers.
• Empty trash and garbage containers daily or more often if necessary.
• Respond to accidents and potential safety hazards such as spills and restroom issues.
• Notify school officials concerning the need for repairs throughout the building.
• Maintain the appearance of the outside of the building through picking up trash, mowing, etc.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized custodial storage areas.
Requirements:
• GED or high school diploma;
• Or related experience or training;
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
