Job Summary
The Appoquinimink School District is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Full-Time Night Custodian. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our schools.
This is a 12-month position that requires flexibility and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a valid Class D Driver's License with a good driving record.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of tasks including sweeping, dry or wet mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, cleaning walls and ceilings, windows, furniture, lights, bathrooms, shampooing carpets, moving furniture and other supplies, cleaning outside grounds, helping to load and unload trucks, shoveling and removal of snow and ice, cutting grass and trimming, opening and closing the building, and securing the alarm system.
- Provide minor maintenance to the building and equipment, including replacement of light bulbs, painting, and care for lawn mowers, trimmers, vacuum cleaners, and buffers.
- Drive cars/trucks to pick up equipment, supplies, parts, and mail.
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Custodian, Principal, and/or the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor.
- Clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas of the building according to school district standards.
