Developmental Disability Aide

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Apprentice to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while making a positive impact on the lives of our clients. As an Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced staff members, learning essential skills in patient care and support.

Duties

• Provide direct support to individuals in a group home or assisted living setting.
• Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation and cooking.
• Engage in patient observation to monitor the well-being and safety of clients.
• Support clients with memory care needs, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to patient care and CPR.
• Foster a positive and encouraging environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Requirements

• A genuine interest in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Prior experience in direct support, memory care, or patient observation is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of meal preparation and cooking skills.
• CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and respect for clients' needs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 10 per week
