Position Overview

The Data Engineer at the Walton Arts Center and Walmart AMP is a critical role responsible for building and maintaining data systems, data warehouses, and data pipelines to enable data-driven decision-making. This role collaborates with the IT Director and other teams to strategize and implement roadmaps for data management, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility across platforms.

Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data warehouses and pipelines to ingest data from multiple sources
• Clean, transform, and organize data to ensure data quality and usability for analytics and reporting
• Collaborate with the IT Director to develop data strategies and roadmaps aligned with business goals
• Create and maintain data visualizations and dashboards to provide insights into key performance metrics
• Manage data integration with external systems, including CRM, ticketing platforms, and other enterprise tools
• Ensure data security, compliance, and governance standards are met
• Optimize the performance of databases and data platforms, ensuring reliability and efficiency
• Monitor data systems and troubleshoot performance issues
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver customized data solutions
• Stay current with data engineering trends and technologies to continuously improve processes
  
  
  

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related role
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing
• Knowledge of API integrations and data pipeline automation tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
  
  
  

Physical And Work Environment Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Occasional evening and weekend work is required for events
