Position Overview
The Data Engineer at the Walton Arts Center and Walmart AMP is a critical role responsible for building and maintaining data systems, data warehouses, and data pipelines to enable data-driven decision-making. This role collaborates with the IT Director and other teams to strategize and implement roadmaps for data management, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility across platforms.
Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

The Data Engineer at the Walton Arts Center and Walmart AMP is a critical role responsible for building and maintaining data systems, data warehouses, and data pipelines to enable data-driven decision-making. This role collaborates with the IT Director and other teams to strategize and implement roadmaps for data management, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility across platforms.
Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data warehouses and pipelines to ingest data from multiple sources
- Clean, transform, and organize data to ensure data quality and usability for analytics and reporting
- Collaborate with the IT Director to develop data strategies and roadmaps aligned with business goals
- Create and maintain data visualizations and dashboards to provide insights into key performance metrics
- Manage data integration with external systems, including CRM, ticketing platforms, and other enterprise tools
- Ensure data security, compliance, and governance standards are met
- Optimize the performance of databases and data platforms, ensuring reliability and efficiency
- Monitor data systems and troubleshoot performance issues
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver customized data solutions
- Stay current with data engineering trends and technologies to continuously improve processes
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related role
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing
- Knowledge of API integrations and data pipeline automation tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Occasional evening and weekend work is required for events
