Job Title: Senior Survey Manager
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

ABOUT APPRISE
APPRISE is a nonprofit research institute dedicated to collecting and analyzing data to assess and improve public programs. Our research focuses on initiatives that provide energy bill payment assistance, energy education, and energy efficiency services for low-income households, as well as programs that promote energy efficiency for residential, commercial, and industrial utility customers. Through rigorous research, APPRISE delivers actionable recommendations to program administrators and stakeholders to improve program design, operations, and impact.
Role Description
APPRISE has is seeking a Senior Survey Manager to design, implement, and manage quantitative and qualitative research projects on energy efficiency and energy assistance programs. The staff member will focus primarily on survey and interview data collection projects and will be responsible for research planning, questionnaire design and testing, sample development and selection, interviewer training, data collection management, and data analysis and report writing activities.
This is a full-time, in-person position at our Princeton, NJ location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sample and Survey Development
- Conduct comprehensive research planning to guide the design and implementation of surveys.
- Propose and implement effective sample frame development and sample selection procedures.
- Develop and test survey questionnaires to ensure clarity, relevance, and accuracy.
Survey Management
- Develop effective interviewing protocols and sample management procedures.
- Provide training to interviewers to ensure consistent and high-quality data collection.
- Oversee data collection processes, including scheduling, monitoring progress, and addressing any challenges to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
Analysis
- Develop survey weights to be applied in the analysis.
- Analyze survey response rates and data.
- Assist in writing comprehensive reports that summarize findings, provide recommendations, and address research objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
- Work in-office Monday to Friday (40 hours)
- Master’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of survey research experience.
- Background in Public Policy, Sociology, Economics, Political Science or a related field.
- Familiarity with survey platforms such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, or Alchemer.
- Experience with a statistical and data analysis package such as SAS, STATA, or R.
DESIRED QUALITIES
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection activities.
- Analytical skills for data collection, interpretation, and analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple data collection projects.
- Research skills to identify and review relevant literature and data.
- An interest in public policy programs.
