Job Duties

Business Development and Strategy

  • Craft and implement robust business development strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives.
  • Identify and penetrate new markets, including emerging mission areas, to secure high-value contracts.
  • Expand existing business while generating and capturing new revenue opportunities in defense and commercial sectors.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop a thorough understanding of customer needs in the space and propulsion markets.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish strong relationships with government, defense, and commercial entities.
  • Represent the company at industry events and customer briefings, showcasing technological capabilities and building partnerships.
  • Proposal and Contract Management

  • Lead proposal development efforts, ensuring alignment with the company's value proposition.
  • Partner with internal teams to refine pricing strategies and lead contract negotiations.
  • Manage the end-to-end proposal process, from opportunity identification to successful submission.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to uncover trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities.
  • Utilize research insights to influence company strategy and ensure a competitive edge.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering and technical teams to align product offerings with market needs.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing collateral, presentations, and investor materials.
  • Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in business development, acquisition, or capture management within the defense or aerospace sectors.
  • Deep understanding of defense acquisition programs and key stakeholders, including Program Executive Offices and the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Proven success in government and / or commercial business development efforts.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with competing priorities.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Experience preparing, submitting, and managing government proposals.
  • Familiarity with startup environments and early-stage business challenges.
  • Background in aerospace, particularly with spacecraft or propulsion systems, is a significant advantage.
  • Comfortable collaborating within a geographically dispersed and cross-functional team.
  • Security Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain US Secret clearance.
