Job Duties
- Design and develop electronic hardware solutions, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and architecture design for ground control systems.
- Conduct component selection, validation testing, and integration for high-reliability UAS control platforms.
- Create and implement test plans, criteria, and test fixtures for both design verification and production certification.
- Generate engineering-grade reports, conduct cost analyses, and establish performance metrics for critical components.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to enhance system capabilities and address design challenges.
- Optimize PCB stack-ups for power distribution, noise reduction, and controlled impedance.
- Work with high-speed communication protocols, including MIPI-CSI, MIPI-DSI, Gigabit Ethernet, and other advanced signaling technologies.
- Design power systems with a strong understanding of circuit constraints and efficiency considerations.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to refine development workflows and manufacturing efficiencies.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer or similar PCB design software.
- Strong background in electronic hardware and system design principles.
- Experience with high-speed signaling, length matching, and controlled impedance layouts.
- Expertise in common communication buses such as I2C, CAN, Serial, and SPI, including debugging methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with soldering and PCB fabrication processes.
- Ability to develop technical documentation, including fabrication and assembly specifications.
- 3 years of experience in hardware engineering and/or a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in UAS, robotics, or drone development, particularly ground control systems.
- Familiarity with system-level hardware/software integration.
- Strong understanding of EMI/EMC considerations in PCB design.
- Background in designing ruggedized or military-grade electronics.
- Must be able to obtain US Secret clearance.
