What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wi-Fi Test engineer with OCTOBOX position at Apptad Inc?
Job description :
Perform functional, performance testing of WiFi devices (routers), networks and protocols
Develop test cases for WiFi 6, 6E, 7 using 802.11 standards and wireless technologies
Analyze the test results for meeting the WiFi standards / requirements defined in the test case
Analyze WiFi performance for signal strength, latency, throughput
Collaborate with the customer and Spirent teams to ensure testbeds are properly integrated and configured for optimal testing.
Utilize network testing tools such as Wireshark, iPerf for debugging and performance reviews.
Identify areas for improvement for the WIFI product and testing and provide feedback
Using Python to develop scripts for Automating the WiFi test cases
Document test results and provide status reports and recommendations
Skills :
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of previous WiFi experience.
Strong knowledge on RF technology, signal propagation for validating the WiFi access point functionalities & performance
Experience in wireless testing using Spirent Octobox or any other tool.
Strong understanding of 802.11 standards, TCP / IP
TR-398 Broadband Forum knowledge a plus
Experience with wireless security protocols such as WPA2, WPA3, 802.1X
Experience with wireless networks such as MIMO, OFDMA, MU-MIMO and mesh networks
Python programming skills
Familiarity with test automation (REST API) frameworks and tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Any WiFi certification is a plus (CWS, CWNA, CWDP)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
