What are the responsibilities and job description for the Department Manager (Water Wastewater Engineering) position at Appy Pie LLP?
Responsibilities:
- Need to have strong design experience and focus and be able to mentor the junior staff effectively as it relates to design. Some construction experience is helpful but need someone with more design experience.
- Become the trusted advisor to our established water and wastewater clients and supplement our sales team in the development and securing of new project work.
- Diagnosing, analyzing and implementing treatment process improvements.
- Optimization of treatment plant operation systems including: Pretreatment, Filtration, Chemical disinfection, Residuals and Energy systems.
- Asset evaluation and related long-term capital planning.
- Hydraulic modeling of treatment system processes and storage systems.
- Supplementing utility staff with water and wastewater expertise in critical situations.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or related fields is required.
- Current PE license is required.
- The ideal candidate has 10 plus years of experience in the water and/or wastewater discipline.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be available to travel to job sites and client meetings.
- Occasional overnight travel will be required.
- Capable of working independently; minimum supervision required.
- Previous team leadership, management experience, and mentoring skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
