Senior Software Tester

Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Software Tester position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you’ll support the planning of technical approaches, resources, schedules, and equipment required for the testing and evaluating of new systems, products and special devices. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related Science or Mathematics field and 8 years of experience.

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Position: Senior Software Tester

Contract: 6 months with possibility of turning long term

Pay: $78.57/hour

Schedule: Onsite; 9/80 schedule

Responsibilities

As a Software Tester, you’ll participate in the planning of technical approaches, resources, schedules, and equipment required for the testing and evaluating of new systems, products and special devices. Utilizing your expert knowledge and understanding of test engineering concepts and principles, you’ll prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures throughout the engineering development lifecycle.

Working Successfully Within a Team, The Test Engineer Will Execute The Test Approach And Document System Verification Throughout The Engineering Development Lifecycle. This Will Entail Assisting In The Following Areas

• Generation of system test work products by applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools
• Development of test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products
• Development of functional, environmental, operational, and/or performance tests on hardware, software, and systems
• Design, development and implementation of cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting of hardware, software and systems for all phases of product development and manufacturing
  
  

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree and 6 years
• Solid knowledge in use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories
• Experience writing testing procedures in a technical environment
• Solid knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages
• Openly proposes ideas that enhance productivity and efficiency, solicits input, and optimizes solutions
