Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Advanced Systems Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for defining, developing and sustaining enhancements to a live communication system. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering or related plus a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Position: Advanced Systems Engineer
Contract: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct/permanent
Pay: $68.34/hour
Telecommute: Hybrid
Overview
As a systems engineer for MUOS, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for defining, developing and sustaining enhancements to a live communication system. We provide warfighters with a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than available through the current system.
The ideal candidate is a systems engineer with a strong software background and has experience on large solution programs which includes both Hardware and Software. We highly recommend you apply if you have any of the following job experience: Have worked as a Systems Engineer on a complex software system. Or is someone who understands DOD domain/programs well, has a demonstrated capability to think at a Systems Level, and has a growth mindset.

Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5 years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
- Success leading the systems development life cycle with strong proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools
- Creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions
- Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success
- Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions
