Our client is a worldwide telecommunications company that offers voice, data and video services and solutions on its award-winning networks and platforms, delivering on customers’ demand for mobility, reliable network connectivity, security, and control.
We are looking for GIS Telecom Data Scientist who will be responsible for working with our client’s internal Engineering and Network Assurance teams in providing the best network to our external customers.
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD 20701 – Hybrid/Remote
Position: GIS Telecom Data Scientist
Pay: $60/hr. on W2
Duration: 7 months or longer
Working Model: Hybrid- Tuesdays and Wednesdays in office
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include working with our client’s internal Engineering and Network Assurance teams in providing the best network to our external customers. They also collaborate with other internal teams such as Sales, Device, Network Planning, Territory Planning, and Service Performance to develop and distribute buildable plans.
This role will require strong analytical skills to create multiyear network plans, including but not limited to 5G (mmWave and C-Band) strategy and deployment planning. Developing guidance on how to build a network that supports both mobile and fixed wireless users requires one to understand RAN coverage modeling, RAN capacity planning, RF link budgets, and customer experience.
The use of analytics and automation on the team will enable consistent, accurate, and actionable guidance/modeling to be provided to various business units across the company. This role will heavily utilize business intelligence tools, scripting, and Google suite tools to effectively communicate information in a format that is consumable for all customers.
• Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of reports and KPI dashboards in current technologies.
• Sources data and analyzes trends across diverse metrics.
• Designs, develops and maintains Data KPI databases and platforms.
• Able to articulate patterns/trends by creating meaningful representations of data.
• Ensures report validation and audits and processes to ensure data integrity.
• Develops ad-hoc reporting as requested.
MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important):
• Experience with QGIS, ArcGIS or other geospatial analysis applications
• Mastery of Excel/Google sheets, Alteryx, or Tableau
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and organize data and develop recommendations
• Familiarity with internal tools used in Network design and build process: Fuze Planning/SPM, VPI, ACP, xLPT, TrueCall is also a benefit
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Familiarity with database structures and tools necessary to access data from data warehouses and combine it with other sources
• Strong understanding of wireless network design and optimization. System Performance or RF Design experience
