Our client is a prominent air quality management agency serving four local counties. The agency's mission is to regulate businesses to ensure they do not pollute the air.
The ideal candidate will provide clerical support to the Accounting unit of the Finance department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and credit card payments.
This is an onsite role with a 7:00 a.m. start time, ending at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday – Friday, with four 10-hour days. A typing skills test is required, and candidates must reach at least 30 wpm.
This position involves working with various automated data processing office equipment and software, including Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify payment approval and account codes for invoices and credit card payments.
- Reconcile company credit card statements with supporting documents.
- Contact agency employees or vendors to clarify credit card transactions, claims, or payments.
- Scan and index hard-copy records into the document management system.
- Operate computer, typewriter, calculator, and other automated data processing office equipment.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in a financial or accounting environment, including data entry and reviewing vendor/claim invoices for accuracy.
- Experience working on finance-related clerical records, such as invoices and claims, with the ability to reconcile and resolve discrepancies.
- Understanding of prescribed clerical accounting practices and procedures.
- Good communication skills to interact with agency employees regarding credit card payments.
- Excellent organizational skills, including scanning and filing documents in alphabetical, numerical, chronological, and subject matter order.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Minimum typing speed of 30 net words per minute.
