In this role, you’ll take a lead role in a small cross functional team responsible for the requirements analysis, trade studies, and system/electrical/mechanical design of new and future transmit electronic equipment. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 10 years of experience.

Pay: $92.47/hour
Schedule: Onsite/Hybrid

Candidates will have demonstrated recent, relevant technical contribution to acoustic systems and shown the ability to lead and mentor others.

Responsibilities
- Perform research trade studies analyses of data, in support of customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals, to determine feasibility of the design
- Synthesizes solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance while staying within schedule and cost constraints
- Leads Modeling and Simulation activities
- Leads concept design activities through development and into production
- Evaluate components to determine performance impacts to existing designs.
- Create and review hardware and system design documentation such as schematics, interface control drawings, assembly drawings and other technical documents to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Performs detailed technical analyses for a system and electrical subsystems to include: concept, requirements, platform integration, design and life cycle maintenance.
- Performs electrical requirements analysis, requirements definition, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies and interface definition studies of electrical elements
- Performs technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for system electrical elements
- Leads customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (subsystem, elements and components)
- Leads and performs the generation and maintenance of electrical work products (i.e. plans, specifications, design documentation, etc.)
- Leads technical design and trade studies documents in support of proposal developments and customer presentations
- Manages lower-level employees
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10 years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.
- Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to drive innovation and secure buy-in on concepts and ideas to drive the solution from concept to production.
- Effectively communicates technical and programmatic matters to senior level management, program offices, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Understanding of power/analog hardware and inboard and outboard electronic systems.
- Proficiency with requirements analysis, system and electrical design deliverables/reviews and related tools.
- Experience with system and electrical analyses, trade study development and proposal presentations.
- Experience with system and/or electrical cabinet and component design, specifications and/or upgrades.
- Experience with systems and/or electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools
- Strong proficiency in designing and developing input power systems and requirements.
- Expertise in amplifier design and characterization with understanding of complex reactive loads.
- Experience with designing and specifying unit controllers, including telemetry, D/A conversion for waveforms, and timing systems.
- Knowledge of cables, connectors, and receptacles, and their selection and specification for various applications.
- Acoustic systems for submarines and/or submersibles
- Acoustic transducers or projector applications
- Inboard or outboard electronics
- Power/analog hardware and systems
- Linear amplifier design
- A working knowledge of various CAD tools, MBSE, or other digital engineering tools & processes.
- A working knowledge of acoustics and/or Sonar applications.
- Understand and design Power Amplifiers, Class A, AB, C, D and S
