As a Network Engineering Service Engineer you will :
- Design solutions for network (transport) at OT / IT new sites and determine if cell, radio, private circuit, or even satellite can facilitate transport at new remote locations.
- Schedule maintenance windows for deployments, following all change management processes.
- Manage the selection, ordering, delivery, coordinate activation of transport for IT / OT environments, and then hand over to core networking team.
- Inventory, catalog bandwidth, utilizations, SLA's and create / maintain transport documentation of all transport (Circuits, Microwave, DIA, P2P circuits).
- Researching existing IT / OT circuits for circuit diversity. (Last Mile providers, intermediate circuits, and POPs)
- Provide recommendations on system enhancements that will improve reliability, redundancy, and performance of transport.
- Work with Purchasing for circuit contract co-terms and renewals
- Input all circuit information into SolarWinds for monitoring.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
- Ability to think through problems, visualize solutions and work through roadblocks.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
- Able to start a project, own it and see it through completion.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
- A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
- Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable and flexible when necessary.
- Possess excellent organizational planning, time management, and communication skills
- Must be able to occasionally travel through Oregon and SW Washing, valid driver's license required
