One of our key programs is the APHomes Rapid Rehousing Program , which provides safe, transitional housing and comprehensive support to Transition Age Youth (TAY) , ages 18-24, as they work toward independence and long-term stability. We are currently seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to support our TAY participants and help them transition to permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

About the Role

As a Resident Services Coordinator , you will be an essential part of the APHomes Rapid Rehousing Program , providing on-site support to residents. This is a critical role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for TAY participants. You'll oversee daily activities, offer emotional support, manage crises, and facilitate life skills development. By collaborating with case managers and community partners, you"ll empower residents to navigate their unique challenges and thrive.

Program Objectives

The APHomes Rapid Rehousing Program focuses on three key objectives :

Housing Stability : Providing safe, transitional housing to guide TAY participants toward permanent housing solutions.
Supportive Services : Offering tailored support, including case management, education, employment assistance, and life skills development.
Community Integration : Creating a sense of community where residents are encouraged to engage, develop, and support each other as they work towards independence.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee Daily Operations : Supervise the daily activities of the housing site, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for all residents.

Emotional Support : Provide guidance and emotional support to residents as they navigate personal and social challenges.

Crisis Management : Respond effectively to crises, utilizing de-escalation techniques and providing immediate assistance when necessary.

Life Skills Development : Encourage and assist residents in developing essential skills, such as managing finances, preparing meals, searching for employment, and managing time.

Program Activities : Support program activities and assist in organizing workshops and events that foster personal growth and social development.

Documentation : Keep accurate and thorough records of incidents, daily activities, and interactions with residents for program evaluation and transparency.

Collaboration : Work closely with case managers and other staff members to create individualized support plans tailored to each resident's needs and goals.

Resource Coordination : Connect residents with local resources for counseling, education, job training, healthcare, and other essential services.

Promote Community Atmosphere : Foster a positive, inclusive community by encouraging residents to respect house rules and engage in a collaborative living environment.

Requirements

Education : High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in Social Work , Psychology , or a related field is preferred.

Experience : Experience working with youth or in a residential setting is beneficial.

Skills :

Strong communication and interpersonal skills .

Effective problem-solving and crisis management abilities .

Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a diverse community.

Patience, empathy, and a nonjudgmental approach.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Technology : Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with documentation systems .

Certifications : First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
