Our client is seeking a Controller to join their team. This is a full-time / permanent position with a direct client of Aprio Talent Solutions.
Important Notes:
- This is a very hands-on role given that there is a small accounting staff plus the CFO who currently handles these responsibilities.
- This role will work directly with the CFO as their right hand and will be in charge of all day-to day accounting (banking, invoicing, AP/AR, Payroll, month end, etc)
- Company has 500-1,000 W2 employees (security guard contractors) and we are seeking someone from a similar industry with related experience in the employee volume.
Location: 100% REMOTE (Must be in the Greater Atlanta area to meet with the CFO occasionally)

Position Overview
The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, including invoicing, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), month-end close, and journal entries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QuickBooks Online, GAAP principles, and day-to-day financial management. This is a remote role but requires the candidate to be based in Atlanta for periodic in-person meetings with the Fractional CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting Operations: Manage all day-to-day accounting functions, including invoicing, AR, AP, and banking activities.
- Month-End Close: Perform month-end close procedures, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Banking & Cash Management: Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions.
- GAAP Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP standards in all financial reporting.
- QuickBooks Online Management: Maintain and optimize the company’s QuickBooks Online system for accuracy and efficiency.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses as needed.
- Collaboration with Fractional CFO: Work closely with the Fractional CFO to support financial strategy and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized company.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required.
- Hands-on experience with invoicing, AR/AP, debits and credits, and banking operations.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and month-end close processes.
- Must be based in the Atlanta area for periodic in-person meetings.
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
