Senior Cost Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time / permanent position with a direct client of Aprio Talent Solutions.

About the role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant that along with typical duties of a Cost Accountant can help with analysis of cost models as they may go to a fixed model.

This is on a small accounting team (less than 10). Key duties include establishing standard costs, variance analysis, budget preparation, and monitoring equipment inventory levels to ensure profitability.

Client industry: Healthcare

Location: New Hyde Park, NY

Onsite: 5 days per week

Salary is negotiable based on experience: Up to $120k bonus

Responsibilities:

• Establish standard costs for each service offered by the Company based on expected production levels and compare against actual costs and identify variances.
• Identify and investigate discrepancies between actual costs and standard costs, analyzing the causes of variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop cost analysis to enable management to create pricing models for the performance of its different services in various geographic locations.
• Prepare regular reports for management that detail production costs, profitability analysis, and cost trends.
• Monitor equipment inventory levels and analyze inventory turnover to identify potential issues with stock management.
• Identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs across various service areas

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
• 3-5 years of Cost Accounting experience
• Experience with Sage Intacct is nice to have
• Experience with Cost Variance Analysis. (Ex. if company comes out with a new product line they need someone to be able to do this analysis and provide reports on it)
