Our client is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time / permanent position with a direct client of Aprio Talent Solutions.
About the role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant that along with typical duties of a Cost Accountant can help with analysis of cost models as they may go to a fixed model.
This is on a small accounting team (less than 10). Key duties include establishing standard costs, variance analysis, budget preparation, and monitoring equipment inventory levels to ensure profitability.
Client industry: Healthcare
Location: New Hyde Park, NY
Onsite / Hybrid: Open to fully on-site or some hybrid work based on candidate preference.
Salary is negotiable based on experience: Target 80 - 90k bonus
Responsibilities:
- Establish standard costs for each service offered by the Company based on expected production levels and compare against actual costs and identify variances.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies between actual costs and standard costs, analyzing the causes of variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop cost analysis to enable management to create pricing models for the performance of its different services in various geographic locations.
- Prepare regular reports for management that detail production costs, profitability analysis, and cost trends.
- Monitor equipment inventory levels and analyze inventory turnover to identify potential issues with stock management.
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs across various service areas
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
- 3-5 years of Cost Accounting experience
- Experience with Sage Intacct is nice to have
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
