Job Description: Advanced Power Technologies/Blauberg is looking for a highly skilled metal fabricator with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a job shop environment. This role involves working with mostly light gauge steel, as well as light cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components according to blueprints and specifications and grinding. The ideal candidate will possess strong fabrication skills and the ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Metal Cutting and Shaping: Operate various tools and machinery to cut, shape, and finish metal materials according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Assembly: Assemble metal components into finished products or subassemblies.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Identify and rectify any defects or discrepancies.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine the correct dimensions and material requirements.
- Machine Operation: Safely operate and maintain fabrication equipment such as presses, shears, and grinders.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure proper functionality and prevent downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and supervisors, to complete projects on time and within specifications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a job shop environment.
- Proficiency in operating metal fabrication tools and machinery.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and measure accurately using a tape measure.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs or more.
- Welding not required, but a bonus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the fabrication process.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in metal fabrication is a plus.
