Summary
As a Youth Mentor at Aptiv in Janesville, you will play a vital role in supporting young individuals with disabilities. Your mentorship will help them develop essential skills, engage more actively in their communities, and achieve their personal goals.
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
- Hourly Rate: $16/hour
- Hours: 10-20 hours per week
- After-school programming: 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
- Summer programming: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
- Flexibility: Scheduling tailored to your availability
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized mentoring to youth with disabilities, fostering personal growth and skill development.
- Assist in creating engaging activities that promote social interaction and community involvement.
- Support youth in setting and achieving personal goals related to education, social skills, and independence.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each individual.
- Encourage positive behavior through effective communication and conflict resolution strategies.
- Document progress and provide feedback to the team regarding each mentee's development.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (both spoken and written) to effectively communicate with youth and families.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.
- Meet the State of Wisconsin’s minimum auto insurance requirements.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, including occasional weekend availability.
