The Manager of Instructional Media Design will lead a team of instructional designers to develop engaging, high-quality multimedia learning content. This role is crucial in ensuring that all learning experiences align with the organization’s learning strategy and drive meaningful behavior change. The ideal candidate will have expertise in multimedia design, a strong understanding of learning principles, and the ability to manage and mentor a dynamic team of instructional designers.

Responsibilities include:
Lead Multimedia Design Strategy
Develop and execute the multimedia design strategy for L&D initiatives, ensuring that all learning content integrates multimedia elements effectively to enhance engagement, retention, and application.
Develop comprehensive multimedia design plans that align with the broader L&D strategy and meet project targets
Ensure design choices (e.g., video, animation, interactivity) are informed by learning theory and user-centered design principles.
Manage and Mentor Instructional Designers
Provide regular feedback, coaching, and support to team members to ensure high-quality instructional media output.
Foster a collaborative environment where instructional designers can share ideas, feedback, and best practices.
Provide knowledge and mentorship, to build the team’s multimedia design expertise.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with subject matter experts, business leaders, and the Director of L&D to align multimedia learning materials with business needs and learning objectives.
Engage with subject matter experts to understand learning needs and objectives, translating these into multimedia-rich content.
Communicate effectively with business leaders and the Director of L&D to ensure multimedia projects align with organizational goals.
Quality Control & Review: Ensure that all multimedia design work produced by the team meets high-quality standards, is consistent with brand guidelines, and adheres to best practices in learning design and accessibility.
Evaluate Learning Impact: Monitor the effectiveness of multimedia learning materials through feedback, assessments, and data analysis, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.
Analyze learner feedback and performance data to assess the effectiveness of multimedia content and make improvements.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Communications, or a related field. Or equivalent experience.
Competencies:
Strong visual design skills with a strong eye for detail and aesthetics.
Creative and strategic thinking, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
Knowledge of trending marketing strategies and techniques.
Ability to translate complex concepts into clear learning experiences
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere) and other multimedia design tools.
Familiarity with core instructional theories and learning methodologies
Experience with data visualization tools and familiarity
Knowledge of current trends in multimedia design, video production, and e-learning technologies.
Technical Skills:
Experience:
5 years of experience in multimedia design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in graphic design, production, and data visualization.Experience in a learning and development environment, creating materials that support educational or training initiatives.
Proven ability to lead creative projects from concept to completion, managing both internal teams and external vendors.
Required Skills:
Experience: 4 years of experience in organizational development, instructional design, or a similar role, preferably within a corporate or large organization.
Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Psychology, Human Resources or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with experience in using data to influence decision-making.
Great customer facing skills and the desire to be a part of a growing company.
Well organized, detail oriented.
