Aptive seeks an experienced Assistant Senior Project Manager to support the Administration for
Children and Families (ACF) Office of Head Start. Under the guidance of the Senior Project Manager, the
Assistant Senior Project Manager plays a hands-on role in coordinating the operational and
administrative facets of the Office of Head Start’s national monitoring efforts. The Assistant Senior
Project Manager supports the planning, scheduling, and deployment of large-scale monitoring reviews
across the nation, manages logistical details (e.g., travel, meeting planning, communications), and
collaborates with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (including subcontractors, Federal
officials, and reviewers). This role ensures that the day-to-day tasks remain on schedule, meet quality
standards, and align with contractual obligations.

efforts. They have previous experience leading projects and are highly organized and systematic in their

Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of relevant project management experience with the federal government
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to Organizational Management, Human Services,
- Experience supporting large, complex projects for federal agencies; ACF preferred.
- Basic understanding of Head Start/Early Head Start Program Performance Standards, or a
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Trello, or equivalent) and office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear meeting notes, status
- Strong background in budget planning, cost control, and financial reporting for large-scale
- Able to synthesize programmatic, fiscal, and compliance data to ensure accuracy, consistency,
- Able to work effectively with cross-functional groups including reviewers, government officials,
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) preferred.
