Aptive is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to Veterans at the VA St. Louis Health Care System (VASLHCS). The selected candidate will play a critical role in improving mobility, function, and quality of life for Veteran patients, utilizing state-of-the-art therapy techniques in compliance with The Joint Commission and American Board of Physical Therapy standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to develop functionally based short- and long-term rehabilitation goals.
- Implement individualized treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, reducing pain, restoring function, and increasing patient participation.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including posture training, gait analysis, strength and endurance exercises, balance and coordination training, joint mobility therapy, and functional movement tasks.
- Monitor and document progress towards therapeutic goals, making necessary modifications to treatment plans.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on rehabilitation strategies and at-home management techniques.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records following VA documentation policies, including initial assessments, progress notes, and final evaluations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences, discharge planning, and specialty clinics to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to VA policies on patient confidentiality, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Utilize adaptive equipment and assistive devices (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers, braces) and provide necessary training for safe and effective use.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Must possess a current, unrestricted Physical Therapy license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in either a hospital or ambulatory care setting.
- Proficiency in computerized patient record systems (CPRS) and ability to document services accurately.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, functional activity training, pain management, and adaptive equipment evaluations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Veterans, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification (must remain current during employment).

- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
