Job Summary
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Urologist to provide comprehensive urology services on-site at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. The physician will serve veteran patients with professionalism, adhering to VA policies, and providing consultative, diagnostic, and therapeutic services in a multidisciplinary environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver outpatient and inpatient urologic care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of urological disorders
- Perform urologic procedures and minor surgeries in clinic and/or OR settings
- Review and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and labs
- Coordinate patient care with primary care providers and other specialists
- Maintain accurate documentation in the VA's electronic health record (EHR) system
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and medical staff activities as required
- Adhere to VA clinical guidelines, infection control, and compliance protocols
Minimum Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
- Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory
- DEA registration (if required for practice)
- Proficient in diagnostic and procedural urology techniques
- Must pass credentialing, privileging, and background checks as required by the VA
- U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working with veterans or in government healthcare settings
- Familiarity with VA systems such as CPRS/VistA
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
