Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer to join their dynamic team. This role requires extensive experience in mainframe development, particularly with COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and Batch processes. In addition to development, the role involves providing support for both development and testing environments, as well as L2 production support, utilizing Broadcom tools such as CA7 and Endeavor.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and JCL.
Provide support for development and testing environments to ensure smooth application deployment.
Manage L2 production support for mainframe applications, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Utilize Broadcom tools (CA7, Endeavor, etc.) for job scheduling, version control, and application management.
Work with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions.
Conduct code reviews and participate in system testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Document technical specifications and maintain detailed records of system configurations and changes.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in mainframe technologies.
Requirements:
8-12 years of experience in mainframe development and support.
Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and Batch processing.
Experience with Broadcom tools such as CA7 and Endeavor is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of core acquiring/processing business domains such as client settlement, interchange settlement, clearing/funding, billing, and disputes.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
