Schematic Cartographer
Location: Atlanta GA
12-month extendable contract
Position will be responsible for creating detailed schematic rail yard drawings used by various departments for information and training. Position will use data obtained from surveys, satellite imagery, GIS data and other geospatial data sources to create detailed schematic drawings of Client Corporation rail yards that will include tracks, buildings, towers, roads, and other rail yard structures. Position will also be required to collaborate with various subject matter experts on rail yard operations to obtain accurate attribute details to be included in schematic drawings.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data: Gather data from surveys, satellite images, aerial photographs, and other sources to create detail schematic yard drawings.
- Create drawings: Create schematic yard drawings to required specifications for export to PDF format.
- Update drawings: Revise existing drawings and making corrections and adjustments as needed.
- Use GIS: Integrate Geographic Information System (GIS) data into drawings.
- Collaboration: Work with various source experts to obtain information vital in the creation of schematic yard drawings.
- Ensure accuracy: Check drawings for accuracy and detail.
