Join our independent tax office in Lenexa, KS, where we pride ourselves on delivering top-notch tax preparation services for individuals and businesses alike. We are currently seeking a SEASONED Tax Preparer for an immediate start. This is a contract position that pays $30-$35 per hour plus performance bonus paid out at end of season (April 15th). Expected work 40-55 hours per week.
Duties
- Accurately prepare and file tax returns for diverse clients
- Collect and organize necessary financial documents from clients
- Review and verify tax forms and supporting documentation for thoroughness
- Calculate tax liabilities, deductions, credits, and refunds with precision
- Stay informed on the latest tax laws and regulations
- Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing client inquiries
- Ensure client confidentiality and uphold data security protocols
Experience
- At least 2 years of proven experience as a Tax Preparer or in a related capacity
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and processes
- Proficient in tax preparation software (e.g., ProSeries, UltraTax)
- Understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to analyze financial data and perform accurate calculations
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction
Ideal candidates will have experience in:
- Corporate or public accounting
- Technical accounting knowledge
- Sales or customer service
