Shop Technician - Class B
Department: Manufacturing
Reports to: Shipping Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary
Assist in receiving and pulling parts and materials in the stockroom. Assist in receiving and shipping product and supplies and process UPS shipments. Perform cycle counts on inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Stockroom in placing received parts in the proper stocking location and pulling materials while working with a pick list.
- Assist Receiving with unloading product or supplies from delivery vehicles and ensure product is stored in appropriate locations.
- Assist Shipping with packaging and shipping of parts; foreign, domestic, and sub-contracting and process UPS shipments.
- Perform cycle counts on inventory.
- Band all outside wood.
- Organize and move used equipment, fiberglass floats, and electrical cable.
- Organize and maintain shop floor and buildings.
- Safely load, unload, and rig truckloads, LTL shipments and receipts
- Any other duties as assigned.
knowledge, skills and abilities
Ability to read and interpret blue prints, basic schematics and job travelers. Must be able to utilize small hand tools and operate material handling equipment: sit-down/stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding equipment. Must be able to prioritize and be able to organize. Good communication skills are a must. Must be computer literate.
OSHA approved forklift operator’s license when required.

Exposure to odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, chemicals and other elements with one continuously present to the extent or being disagreeable.
Minimum qualifications
High school diploma / GED plus a minimum of 2 years of related training and experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
