True Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is an Alabama-based dermatology practice specializing in skin cancer surgery, reconstruction, and prevention, as well as medical dermatology. Led by Dr. Raj Patel, a double board-certified, fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon, the practice focuses on delivering the highest quality care with precision and confidence.

Our team has an immediate need for a Travel Medical Assistant who is looking for a career in dermatology. The ideal Medical Assistant candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multi-task. Our team members are responsible for assisting the Provider with patient visits, including consultations and procedures, through the following responsibilities:
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness before each appointment and stocked with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Engage and focus on the patient experience.
- Responsible for gathering patient information, informed consent, and payment information
- Assist the physician with minor procedures, patient charting, uploading imaging, and patient follow-up appointment scheduling.
- Provide detailed post-care instructions to the patient and/or family members.
- Accurately complete pathology and laboratory requisitions as required
- Complete logs and send specimens to the laboratory
- Perform other tasks and duties as directed
Experience and Education:
- 2 years combined education/experience as a substitute for minimum experience
- Medical Assistant (MA) Certification, CPR, and First Aid Certification are preferred
- Hands-on experience in a clinical setting
- Experience with EMR
- Dermatology or surgical experience is preferred.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Full-Time
- Monday-Thursday 7-4
- Friday 7-12
