aQua Dialysis Nacogdoches and San Augustine are seeking a full-time Biomed Tech to cover both locations. Candidate must be able to work independently.
Position Summary:
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of water systems and dialysis equipment to ensure safety of patients and staff. Performs all repair and maintenance activities according to FMCNA policies and procedures, manufacturer's documentation, industry standards and local, state and federal regulatory requirements. Performs monthly Technical Quality Assessment and Process Improvement (QAPI) duties. Responsible for cost containment related to repair and maintenance.
Essential Functions:
- Performs and/or oversee repair and maintenance activities on water treatment equipment, dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and test equipment, as recommended by the manufacturer and in compliance with company policies and procedures, industry standards and local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Documents all repair and maintenance activity/repairs per applicable policies and/or procedures.
- Responsible for purchasing and inventory management of supplies and equipment necessary to keep equipment functioning properly.
- Responsible for required preventative maintenance program as prescribed by the manufacturer and company policy, including support documentation for all water treatment equipment, and related mechanical and electrical systems.
- Performs water/dialysate sample collection and processing per applicable policies and procedures.
- Reviews, evaluates and reports water/dialysate quality results per applicable policies and procedures.
- Performs and ensures water treatment equipment disinfection following applicable policies and procedures
- Actively supports and participates in the Quality Assessment and Process Improvement (QAPI) process.
- Provides Technical Services support needed during natural disasters or emergency situations.
- Ensures defective parts with associated RGA (return goods authorization) and warranty parts are returned within given timeframes.
- Works with facility staff to ensure all regulatory and OSHA requirements are met.
- Transports equipment and supplies as needed.
- Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external vendors and internal colleagues.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
- Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up on issues in a timely manner
- Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering or a combination of higher education and equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: Six (6) months experience working in a medical technical setting.
License/Certification: Current CHBT, CBNT or CBET national certification (or within 18 months of hire).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Must be able to independently travel to assigned locations as needed.
• Able to work flexible hours according to the needs of the business.
• Able to read, write, speak, understand and satisfactorily communicate with others in English.
