Business & Data Analyst
The Business & Data Analyst is responsible for identifying data elements in IT delivery systems and processes to assist with gathering requirements for developing business intelligence reports, performing data analysis by developing and executing SQL queries, maintaining data dictionaries for changes in data fields and their use, and identifying IT data enhancement releases and updates that impact Aqua business intelligence reports.
Essential Functions
- Independently works and communicates with all levels of management and across multiple product lines to determine reporting/project requirements and to research/resolve technical issues with reporting tools and functionality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, gather, and document business requirements for reporting deliverables, and processes
- Document business and data requirements, functional reporting specifications, use cases, and process flows to communicate effectively with stakeholders and Reporting development teams to ensure accurate dashboards and reports are created and developed by business intelligence reporting teams
- Utilizing data analysis techniques and tools analyze gathered data requirements to identify patterns, trends, and inconsistencies, ensuring that they align with business goals and objectives
- Manage the Data Dictionary for Snowflake, including updating it with new fields as they are introduced from system projects.
- Identify business problems, challenges, and opportunities through data analysis in Snowflake and document, report in Jira tickets to propose innovative solutions or process improvements to address them
- Data Analysis: Collect, structure, interpret, and extract complex data into actionable insights through the use of their SQL skills
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical discipline, or commensurate work experience, required
- 3 years of Data Analysis, or related work experience, required
- Ability to use SQL skills to extract data from system application data tables
- Knowledge of Snowflake is a preferred
- Experience with SQL required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Proficient in requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Share Point)
- Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Microsoft Sql Server Management Studio, Datadog, Snowflake)
- Financial industry experience preferred
- Occasional travel required for training and/or project work with external stakeholders and project team members may be required
- Periodic after core hours, night and weekend work is required in relation with essential functions.
- Attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, visualize, talk, hear, and handle or touch objects or controls. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
This position is an office-based position where you must be able to sit for long periods of time. The employee will be working on a computer 90% of the time.
