Aqua-Tech Laboratories is an accredited environmental laboratory that provides water, wastewater, sludge, and soil analysis. We perform a comprehensive range of analyses, including colorimetric, titrimetric, gravimetric, and instrumental analyses. Aqua-Tech Laboratories has served the environmental community for over forty years and is an industry leader in quality assurance. We currently operate two facilities serving the State of Texas. We pride ourselves on employing a dedicated and diverse team of individuals.
We seek a Laboratory/Field Technician to perform analytical procedures at our Bryan, TX facility. Our fast-paced work environment processes large volumes of sample analyses. Our training program provides the technician with all the tools and techniques needed to meet State and National requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of analytical procedures following company-specific standard operating procedures. This includes techniques using pipettes, balances, filtration apparatuses, burettes, electrodes, and other essential techniques. As experience allows, advanced techniques will consist of instrumentation.
- Record data according to company guidelines while maintaining integrity and quality control.
- Maintain and calibrate sensitive equipment.
- Prepare standards and reagents to be used in sample analyses.
- Keep an orderly work environment.
- Follow safety guidelines when working with potentially dangerous samples and chemicals.
- Maintain awareness of deadlines and analysis holding times.
- Receive, track, properly store, and maintain an inventory of environmental samples and supplies.
- Field testing and sample collection.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
Requirements:
- High commitment to data integrity and a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team and autonomously.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. (especially Excel)
- Considerate of documentation etiquette in a shared online file environment.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended times.
- Ability to lift boxes or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional, rotating weekend work.
- A good driving record.
- Complete a background check.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, microbiology, bioenvironmental science, or relevant study.
- Analytical experience.
