About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to support our mission. The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager and be responsible for planning and managing water and sewer improvement projects in the state of Illinois.
Main Responsibilities
• Plan and manage assigned divisions/systems
• Design and implement water and sewer improvement projects, including tanks, boosters, lift stations, and other infrastructure
• Work with hydraulic modeling teams to evaluate and mitigate system-wide challenges
• Prepare and submit permit applications and ensure all required permits are obtained
• Coordinate and manage construction projects, including bidding, scheduling, and cost estimating
• Collaborate with consultants to obtain necessary easements for projects
• Manage project financials, including work orders, purchase orders, and invoicing
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Illinois or ability to obtain within three years
• Two or more years of experience in water and wastewater management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
