Project Manager
- Location requirements: 60-80% in-person; Tacoma, WA; Periodic travel to project sites required

As our Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the demonstration and implementation of our cutting-edge PFAS destruction systems. You will lead a project delivery team—including a Project Engineer and Field Technicians—to ensure that projects are executed with technical excellence, within scope and budget, and with an unwavering commitment to safety and quality. This role is a blend of client interfacing, resource management, strategic planning, and team leadership, requiring excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Team Leadership & Coordination: Directly supervise and mentor a Project Engineer and Field Technicians, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities. Work closely with leaders within Aquagga’s Product Development and R&D departments to help allocate shared resources and manage shared responsibilities. Ensure effective teamwork, resource allocation, and collaboration across technical and operational functions.
- Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, budgets, timelines, and milestones in alignment with contractual obligations. Monitor and manage project scope, ensuring adherence to schedule and cost control measures while ensuring that key technical objectives are met.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinating project deliverables, addressing concerns, and aligning on expectations. Foster positive relationships through clear communication of technical capabilities, project updates, and site visit coordination.
- Budgeting & Profitability: Establish and track project budgets, identifying potential cost savings or overruns early and ensuring profitability goals are met. Negotiate and manage subcontracts, vendor agreements, and procurement to optimize project margins.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Oversee implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies, maintaining an incident-free work environment and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Review and approve technical documentation (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, engineering design packages) for completeness and accuracy.
- Strategic Technical Oversight: Collaborate with the Aquagga Product Development team on pilot- and commercial-scale system design, providing high-level feedback and ensuring alignment with project objectives. Troubleshoot escalated technical issues, leveraging internal and external resources as needed.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and external stakeholders, summarizing key performance indicators, risks, and progress updates. Represent Aquagga at conferences, trade shows, and client-facing events to share project successes and technical innovations.
Are you the person we need?
“Must-have” Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of project management experience, preferably in engineering, construction, or environmental remediation.
- B.S. in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive project success.
- Passion for making a positive impact on the environment and public health.
“Nice-to-have” Qualifications:
- Experience with environmental site remediation, industrial wastewater treatment, water treatment, or with projects of a similar nature
- Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory frameworks
- Experience or familiarity with PFAS
- Experience working with field machinery and equipment in industrial or environmental settings.
- Working knowledge of safety and environmental compliance guidelines (e.g., OSHA, HAZWOPER).
- PMP certification or similar project management credential.
- Proficiency in project management tools (Notion, Trello, Asana, etc.).
- Proposal writing and contracting experience.
Work Schedule & Compensation
- Employment Type: Full-time, salaried position.
- Work Days: Monday through Friday, with flexibility for occasional weekends or extended hours based on project needs
- Travel: Up to 40% travel to project sites across the U.S., based on project phase and customer engagement needs
- Location: Primarily in-person at our Tacoma, WA facility and active project sites (60–80% in-person role)
- Compensation: Salary range of $110,000–$130,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Includes eligibility for company benefits, paid time off, and professional development support.
