Responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations, including supporting financial statements preparation.
- Review operating results of the entities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate project accounting records, including journal entries, expense allocations, and accruals.
- Review and maintain detailed fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct in-depth inventory and material cost analysis to identify cost variance and opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance profitability.
- Monitor and analyze expenses, variances, and trends, providing timely and accurate financial reports to Corporate Controller and CFO.
- Coordinate with the Corporate Controller on all internal and external audits.
- Work with Corporate Controller to develop future accounting leaders through talent development, training and mentoring of individuals, as well as staffing and recruiting of necessary skill sets.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. CPA not required but preferred.
- 8-10 years of GL accounting experience, with 2-4 Controllership experience in a industry related or cost accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including revenue recognition, project costing, and job costing.
- SAGE experience is desired. Also construction or building products software a plus.
