Material Handler

Job Summary
The Material Handler loads and unloads the materials for incoming and outgoing shipments. The handler will also identify, store, distribute, inventory, pick, pack, and ship the materials in the most efficient manner. This position is in Crockett, Texas and will report to the Warehouse Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.

· Read batch tickets or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.

· Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments making sure all materials meet quality standards.

· Identify and locate the right products during the delivery process.

· Inspect and label the incoming product and place them accordingly.

· Keep a well-maintained and updated account of the stock and inventory.

· Prepare, package, label and ship materials and products in accordance with the requirements of OSHA, DOT, and the organization’s criteria.

· Operate various machinery to assist in loading and/or moving materials and products.

· Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

· Prepare Hazardous Waste for removal, ensuring proper storage location at facility and all manifests are completed.

QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Shipping and Receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Ability to understand and properly process orders in company database.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· High energy, clear goal orientation, and strong work ethic, ‘can do’ attitude.

· Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and interact collaboratively with multiple levels of staff.

· Demonstrate exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work additional hours as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.

· Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.

· Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with multiple teams.
