Aquarius Ltd. started in a cramped garage in 1969 with one man handcrafting bold leather watchbands. That man’s obsession with quality, design, and personal service has nurtured this small belt maker into a multi-national leader in fashion accessories for men, women and children.
We are currently looking for a seasoned purchasing manager to join our team. The Purchasing Manager is responsible places our purchase orders to factories to manufacture our product designs to fill our retail customer’s orders. This position may purchase inventory for licensed and branded product, as well as private label made-to-order accessories for specific retail chains.
This primary function of this position is the coordination and management of a large volume of detail within a designated timeframe, including product specifications, packaging, ticketing, labeling, shipping, pricing, testing, factory approvals, production issues, documentation, and communication and follow up with pertinent parties.
- Act as the corporate liaison between our sales teams and the factories to authorize manufacture of product to fulfill our sales orders.
- Finalize pricing, shipping dates, product specifications and customer’s requirements for ticketing, packing, labeling, testing, packaging and shipping with the makers.
- Create purchase orders and distribute to China manufacturers.
- Monitor third party product testing and factory approvals as needed prior to shipping goods.
- Work with third party ticketing and trim suppliers to order tickets and care labels to the customer’s specifications, and within the time frame required. Monitor delivery of trim to factory to coordinate with overseas production.
- Troubleshoot production issues and monitor shipping.
- Heavy communication with sourcing offices and suppliers on a daily basis
- Log and track open purchase orders and communicate updates as needed.
- Maintain accurate information on spreadsheets and computer on a daily basis.
- Create new styles in the system with descriptions, sizes, colors and licensees. Generate SKU’s for each size/color.
- Maintain on-going dialogue with sales, product development, customer service and our import department.
- Closely monitor and track costs to insure achievement of desired margins. Negotiate with factories to achieve company's objectives.
- Analyze stock levels of inventory, open purchase orders, sales projections, retail sales and may manage replenishment programs
- Proactively identify inventory issues with shortages or excess. Create action plans to move merchandise and maintain optimum inventory levels.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Excellent project management skills. Extremely organized and comfortable handling significant responsibility.
- 3 years in buying, inventory analysis, or purchasing. Apparel or fashion industry experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, with expert Excel skills
- Knowledge of Epicor a plus.
- Analytical with experience in in replenishment programs.
- Great communication skills and keeps all players in the loop.
- Experience working with International factories a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
