About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join us as Plant Manager for our new production facility in Broussard, LA.
You will report to the Group Production Director and further develop and oversee our plant and all plant operations, deliver customer satisfaction, and play a key role in the continued growth of our local market.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership as a working manager, responsible for mentoring and coaching all employees.
- Manage the work of the production employees to oversee production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods.
- Hiring, training, and supervising personnel, including assigning tasks and performance evaluations.
- Manage plant administration including demand planning function to ensure compliance to established policies.
Plant Efficiency and Performance
- Consult with the Group Production Director for the cost and yield performance of the Plant.
- Deli ver best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability.
- Continually review operations activities, including local transportation activities to maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws (OSHA, EPA, FD).
- Implement and manage Lean opportunities to effectively eliminate waste.
- Drive efficiencies in asset utilization through proper transportation scheduling, dispatch, & driver management while meeting customer expectations.
Compliance
- Ensure consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the plant.
- Drive Safety improvements across the Plant.
- Ensure ISO quality standards are met working closely with QC Manager.
- Manages maintenance of the site, including buildings.
- Manages the selection and (preventative) maintenance of equipment.
- Manages budgets for repairs and renewals, and contractors.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a supervisory role in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in working and excelling OSHA standards.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams.
- An excellent communicator.
- Has good attention to detail with excellent analytical and organization skills.
- Is self-motivated and shows initiative.
- Is an excellent problem solver.
- Has good attention to detail.
- Familiarity with fleet management, transportation, distribution, and logistics is preferred.
- Experience managing safety performance and programs.
