Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Buyer (Sales Execution) IWS position to work in our Canonsburg, PA, office. The hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Buyer (Sales Execution) IWS will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.
The ideal candidate will have a background in procurement, specifically within the technical commodities industry valves, pumps, vessels, and other water treatment equipment. This candidate will have savvy negotiation skills, be highly organized, be a relationship builder, be customer service driven, and be a team player.
Job Description:
- Creating Sales Orders - Data Entry of Sales Orders
- Promptly purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Copies data and compiles records and reports.
- Operated computer terminal to input and retrieve data.
- Purchases supplies.
- Data entry of all purchase orders.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
- Receive and contact vendors to find out the status of an order.
- Contact vendors with discrepancies in quantity and quality.
- Interfaced with all departments and resolved problems and issues with needed purchase items.
- Manage Inventory
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Traveling when needed to meet project requirements.
- Interfaced with Shipping and Receiving, assisting in shipping parts
- Review Customers''ss Packing and shipping instructions, create shipping documents
Skill Requirements:
- Get competitive quotations from vendors for projects & review them.
- Ability to negotiate supplier prices and purchase commodities for projects, expediting to meet due dates.
- Verify supplier invoices, manage appropriate purchasing budget, check for missing material in the shop, and follow up on partial deliveries.
- Create and maintain budget reports.
- Handle nonconformance with the Quality department.
- Knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred.
- Prior purchasing experience with international vendors is desired.
- Working knowledge of SAP - Preferred.

- Bachelors / Associates Degree (Business, science, or applied science preferred).
- 2 - 5 years experience in purchasing (procurement) of technical commodities
- Candidates with an engineering background with related experience may also be considered
- Experience in the water treatment industry preferred
