Summary:
Aquatech is a global leader in water purification systems technology for both industrial and infrastructure markets located in the United States and internationally. We support our clients with sustainable water purification systems and technologies that are solving the world's water scarcity challenges.
Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Engineering Intern to work in our Hartland, WI office this summer. The hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Intern will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered a non-exempt employee.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience in engineering or similar collegiate classes preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
Job Description:
- Interact with Piping and equipment engineers to understand the Mechanical design process (piping designs and structural steel).
- Work on and complete a development assignment for the design of a component using principles of mechanics, strength of materials, and hydraulics.
- Develop an application to automate a repetitive task within the Mechanical department using tools such as VBA (in Excel), Python, or MATLAB.
- Provide a report at the end of the internship period, describing the tasks undertaken, the objectives, and the conclusions.
Internship:
- Aquatech Internships are in the office five days per week, 40 hours per week. The internship program is temporary employment that lasts for a maximum duration of ninety (90) days. Successful completion of this internship will provide you with invaluable skills in the water treatment industry and make a compelling addition to your professional journey.
Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Basic knowledge of CAD Products such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD would be a plus.
- Programming skills in Python or MATLAB would be considered an advantage.
- A basic understanding of engineering concepts such as stress, strain, and material properties is expected.
