Lake and Pond Management Internship
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with aquatic vegetation management activities
- Identify aquatic weeds and algae
- Conduct basic water quality analysis
- Perform general maintenance and cleanliness of equipment
- Assist with fish and aquatic vegetation surveys
Compensation and Benefits
Interns will receive college credit through their university and be paid $13.75/hour, plus 1.5 times for work exceeding 40 hours per week.
Requirements
To be eligible, applicants should have coursework and experience in fisheries management, aquatic biology, or a related environmental science. Preference will be given to those with basic mechanical ability, outboard motor operation experience, and strong customer interaction skills.
Work Environment and Schedule
This is an outdoor, field-based internship requiring physical labor, with some overnight stays possible. Interns will work an average of 45 hours per week.
