SUMMARY OF POSITION
ARRC is looking for a full-time, hard-working, and responsible individual to join our Environmental Technician. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting operators, installing matting, stabilization tasks such as seeding, strawing, and planting trees/shrubs/ & bio engineering materials. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential for this position. The candidate must expect to work outdoors & in a mix of weather conditions.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Follows project instructions from Foreman
- Ability to interprets blueprints, project plans and specifications for job layout
- Preferred equipment experience for operating equipment to dig, load, unload, and install trees/plant material in all types of terrain and soils, including wetlands, hill slopes and stream banks
- Safely operates a variety of tools including hand tools, chainsaws, and miscellaneous power tools
- Ensures construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
- Installs sediment control and stabilization measures, planting trees and shrubs, and installing erosion control matting
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment, including following all construction site safety rules and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior landscaping and supervisory experience is preferred
- High School or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships is a plus
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and meet necessary deadlines
- Must be able to physically stand, bend, squat, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must follow all company rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, etc.
