What we are looking for

As the Director of Marketplace eCommerce, you will lead the strategy and execution of our marketplace business. This role requires a data-driven, marketing-savvy leader who can optimize product listings, collaborating on pricing strategies, and drive profitable growth. You will also be responsible for building and managing a small team of specialists to support operations, content, and advertising efforts. As we continue to expand our digital presence, we’re looking for a Director of Marketplace eCommerce to take ownership of our marketplace channels—including Amazon, Walmart, and eBay—with a primary focus on driving growth for our manufactured brands.

This is a hybrid role based in Golden Valley, Minnesota, requiring a mix of in-office and remote work.


What you’ll do

  • Develop and execute marketplace strategies to grow revenue and profitability across Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and other emerging platforms.
  • Own end-to-end performance management, including sales forecasting, inventory planning, and promotional strategies.
  • Optimize product listings, content, and advertising to drive conversions and marketplace rankings.
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and product teams to ensure marketplace alignment with overall brand goals.
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of marketplace specialists to support operational execution and growth initiatives.
  • Stay current on marketplace trends, policies, and algorithm updates to ensure compliance and competitive positioning.

As the Director of Marketplace eCommerce, you will collaborate cross-functionally with:

  • Marketing Team – To align marketplace strategies with overall brand positioning and promotional efforts.
  • Operations Teams – To ensure proper inventory planning, fulfillment optimization, and logistical execution.
  • Product Teams – To provide marketplace insights that influence product assortment and innovation.

  • Data-Driven Insight: Expertise in analyzing performance data and deriving actionable insights to optimize marketplace strategies.
  • Attention to Detail: A strong focus on refining product listings, pricing, and advertising strategies to ensure peak performance.
  • Adaptable & Proactive: Comfort in managing change, seizing new opportunities, and taking initiative within a dynamic eCommerce landscape.
  • Customer-Focused Expertise: Deep understanding of marketplace algorithms and consumer behaviors, driving improved engagement and conversion rates.


Role Requirements

  • Experience: 5-7 years leading and scaling a specialty retailer on marketplaces.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to interpret marketplace data, trends, and performance metrics.
  • Marketing & Merchandising Expertise: Proven experience in product optimization, pricing strategies, and digital advertising.
  • Leadership Skills: 3-5 years building and managing small teams of specialists.
  • Problem-Solving Mentality: Ability to pivot strategies based on performance and market conditions.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a deadline driven environment with frequent virtual and in-person interaction.


Compensation

  • $120,000.00 – $130, 000.00
