Directly supervise and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the production and operating workers on second shift.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Specific assignments and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

Description
Directly supervise and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the production and operating workers on second shift.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Specific assignments and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:
- Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequence in order to meet production goals.
- Confers with management and subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, and grievances.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within the department and between departments during shift handover.
- Maintains operations data, such as time, production, and cost records and prepares supporting management reports.
- Recommends and implements measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency.
- Requisitions for procurement of materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects.
- Assists in interviewing and hiring new employees.
- Assists in training new employees.
- Provides performance review feedback and recommends promotions for direct reports.
- Provides employee discipline when appropriate.
- Monitors and evaluates employee performance.
- Performs other duties and special projects as required.
- Advanced understanding of the fabrication and assembly of pressure vessels. ASME code knowledge preferred, API or ISO9001 knowledge a plus
- Welding knowledge including reading weld symbols, and various welding types including MIG/TIG/Flux Core welding.
- Understanding of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing the manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of the equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses safely and efficiently.
- Expert ability to recognize and solve problems and prevent recurrence.
- Effective communication skills and ability to instruct and direct the efforts of others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in Business Central/SAP/Oracle preferred
- Ability to work Overtime as needed, including weekends

Education And Experience
- Seven to ten years of experience in the production welding trade.
- Minimum three to five years of experience as a supervisor in a welding fabrication environment
- Experience in an ASME code facility preferred
