Responsibilities
- Oversee research and development initiatives for commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Establish best practices for instrumentation and data acquisition, ensuring a physics-based approach to product performance.
- Design, test, and evaluate prototypes to enhance thermodynamic and airflow efficiency.
- Analyze and quantify the interactions between design parameters and their effects on product performance.
- Create and document design guidelines and parameters applicable to multiple product families.
- Collaborate with the simulation team to interpret CFD simulation data and integrate insights into the design process.
- Partner with the development lab, Product Management, and Operations to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Ensure alignment with evolving Department of Energy (DOE) regulatory standards.
- Develop a portfolio of commercial refrigeration food display cases, including both remote and self-contained configurations.
- Engage in advanced development and prototyping to confirm technical feasibility.
- Stay informed on industry trends and innovations in refrigeration technology.
- Offer guidance, support, and mentorship to test lab technicians and junior engineers.
